Connection failures, at the University? Surely you jest!

This is a very important "gotcha" that I hadn't considered, but then again
I would have thought it would always download and cache updates before
trying to integrate them? Even MacOS and Windoze have the sense do this.
In any case, one should at least be fine doing a local PXE boot/build or
DVD install from a current release.

Have to admit this is the first time I've encountered Wubi, but thanks for
the heads up, it's definitely one I'll watch out for now! I wonder why
updating doesn't work in it? Sounds as if the disk image system they use
might be a bit hit and miss, or may not play as well wtih NTFS as
predicted!
