The following is really strange, I think it sugest that the X server is not 
even installed. See if you have the directory:
	/etc/X11/

You can install the X server, then a GUI like KDE but I find this to be a pain 
in the arss :)
What you can do in boot up using your install disk and run through the setup 
again.
NOTE: Do not format any partion, and select: use current partions. If it 
forces you to format then only format the Swap partion.

When selecting which packages to install, select KDE or Gnome (or both). This 
will quickly install the X server and the GUI desktop manager.
