[Sderby] Disabling mouse pointer

Guys,

I've had the idea of using an old laptop to build a digital photoframe, connected to my server where I will store a selection of pictures for it to show. 

I intent to use the comamnd line utility "Animate" that comes with the package "ImageMagick" this will give a slide show of all the files in a directory scaling them to fit the display as required.

As I want to use the laptop guts without keyboard or mouse then I have two issues:

1) I want the box to automatically login with a fixed username and and password.
2) I need to start an X server but hide the mouse pointer, starting X is no problem, hiding the cursor is the problem.

Any ideas?
