RARRRR time for my comments :D

its like email table tennis at the mo, would it not be easier to have a meet to decide how the lug moves forward (with a premade agenda) and then have someone chair it? at least then decisions are made and can be actioned instead of weeks of emails? maybe get some big inflatable sumo suits so we can wrestle to answer the arguements ;)

make it in a months time or something and then if people are interested in the lug fate then they have the time to arrange availablity.

maybe this is something Mike could do as being semi impartial with living away??

smoke me a kipper, i'll be back for breakfast......

Gah.
not another forum to fail to read and get behind and have to log into.
A mailing list system which had a forumish interface to those who
wanted it perhaps...

what was the topic again?

Nottingham LUG are holding a LAN party in Beeston on Sunday if any of you
folks are interested in a visit. It's on the Derby side of Nottingham and
it's a friendly little event.

Ah, the perennial list-vs-forum debate that seems to afflict all LUGs on
a regular basis...

The obvious solution is to have *both*. Have the email list auto-post
into a Web-based forum and vice-versa. I did this with a motorcycling
forum I've been running for a decade or so, and it's been a stunning
success. I also auto-post into a News group for folks who like that
format, and everyone is happy.

I've got the server infrastructure to host it, so if y'all want to go
that route, just say the word and I'll wire it up. Might take a week or
two because I'm busy with work, though.

Dave...
