I'm suprised ubuntu doesnt work straight out of the box, there must be some
hardware in you PC that is causing problems. it would really help if you
send the specs of your PC to the list, to see if anyone has had problems
previously.

On a side note, we have quite a few newer people now, maybe its time for us
more experienced people to run an install day?
