Good point, unfortunately the BBC is (allegedly) a public service, not
the commercial entity you seem to be depicting. As such, they have a
duty to make their services available to as wider audience as
possible.

As a public service, it /is/ our right to access this content.

This is pretty non-sensical - picking a specific platform inherently
/reduces/ the target audience. Conforming to an open standard would
address the widest possible audience.

You seem to be somewhat confused between corporate attitudes to
various demographics and the attitude of the general public.
The general public don't hate based on your OS choice - thats pishtosh.
Corporations may discriminate against you based on OS choice, which is
likely to be based on sound business logic. However corporations !=
people.
Also ... Chill a little chap.
It's a little silly to burst a bloodvessel over a media player...
