That one thing if you can do is change TTL, no all domain management
services allow you to do this.  Don't worry about it to much.

If you don't mind being registered in USA my domains are with
www.godaddy.com . Hosting can be with them if you wish, but there nothing
stopping you from using anyone as web host.  Some of domains are going to
be hosted in Germany but domains are being managed in USA. It should makes
no odd's, if the web hosting business your going to use can not do allow
external to them DNS management then it a warring sign that there are not
worth time of day, it should make no odd's.

My domains are going in to Germany because it has one best backbone
connections to the internet in Europe. Also I am not the only one to think
this way it same reason why lot of network connections with Google are in
Germany and not in the UK.

Also merger with Telecity Redbus is also a very good reason to not use UK.
 Germany is only place a price war will take place.
