Same here as well. I have been on PlusNet for about 18 months before we
moved. Service was generally good (although it improved much more when I
added an NTE5 splitter face plate on the master box), but CS had problems.
They couldn't handle my level of expertise, and it took me three days to
get them to tell me they upgraded the line from 512Kb to 2Mb and there
was then too much noise on the line!
I run IPCop with a PCI ADSL modem - the modern would sync, but it
couldn't configure the connection with the exchange and that was just
not something they couldn't understand! :)
Anyway - they botched the installation on our recent move (was supposed
to be a simultaneous installation for phone line and ADSL, but decided
on the day BT had given them the wrong code and it wasn't meant to be -
we could try again as wait 7-14 days if we wanted!), so we moved to Zen
who had us installed in 5 days (called on Wednesday, live on Sunday
morning).
I haven't had to call their support desk yet, and despite 64dB line,
we're happily running along at 1Mb - generally the line says up for a
week, and if it does drop, it's back on within 10s.
