[SWLUG] Ubuntu/KDE lost internet connectivity-KNetworkManager etc

Dear Rich
I bought it from Linux Emporium and they have very kindly agreed to fix
it. I t appears to be as a result of an online upgrade from 7.1 to 8.04
and the conflict with an on board software modem.
