I've been doing a little video editing (slightly older blog link with
range of video editing apps)
<http://alicious.com/2008/amateur-video-editing-on-linux-ubuntu/>
recently and found that KDEnlive <http://kdenlive.org/features> is
looking pretty good since 0.7.1 (which I compiled under Kubuntu but
which apparently is in the repos for Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty). It used to be
pretty buggy and crash prone for me but the latest upgrade seems a lot
more stable.

This topic would be a good lightning talk IMO - recording VHS to your
computer.

FWIW.
