Of course, after I hit send, I realise I've missed of a important piece 
of information.  Currently most of the IT department is working 
remotely.  So at the moment, you'd start doing the same. It's a rather 
changing situation obviously, but the university is making a large push 
towards working remotely and flexibly.  I would imagine that some 
on-site would be required from time to time, so you would probably want 
to be living a sensible commuting distance from Cardiff.  Currently the 
noises from senior management indicate that staff will be allowed to 
choose (as long as your manager approves) if they want to work largely 
remotely or largely onsite (hot-desking).
