Yes it is ! You need a bit of luck though - the bios has to be set up to boot 
the floppy first. Then you make a nfsroot kernel with the right ethercard 
module built in. You set up the nfs server on some other box to serve the 
loopback mounted filesystem I described in my previous post, making sure it's 
scripts are set up appropriately for the old box's hardware and network 
settings etc. Then you shove the floppy in the drive and boot it.

After it's booted you can ssh in and set things up on it's hard drive.
