Amen.  I'll be doing an introductory talk about Plone in May, which
may be a bit late for you, but I'd certainly encourage you to try
Plone - I've found the community support great, especially #plone on
irc.freenode.net and the many zope/plone lists.

Zope debs are ok for a while, but if you start using zope in earnest,
you'll do much better with the source install - it's a doddle and
gives you a much more sane installation IMHO.
