Also worth looking at for j2me phones, is GpsMid.  It's like whereami,
in that it uses vector osm files, and can record traces, but has to be
precompiled. I really like the ability to search for streets. (It also
has a "route" function, but I'm not sure about what that does yet)

However, I've made a precompiled one for Leeds today, which works on
my Nokia 6230i.
