Look in:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

And add the following string values:

AutoAdminLogon=1
DefaultDomain=<Name of Domain>
DefaultUserName=<Samba User Name>
DefaultPassword=<Samba Password>

Find me an MCSE who knows about that one!

I've had success with both plain text and with encrypted passwords.

Win XP's folder size calculating stuff slows things down, but that's not a Samba
issue. I think you can turn it off.
