More information required:

At what point, exactly, does grub "loop" - does it get as far as loading
the kernel? If grub is letting you "input" data before it tries loading
the kernel modify the command line and disable framebuffer
support/splash screen (if any) - atleast then you can see errors, if any.

YMMV, I don't use Mandrake any more so any advice I can offer will be of
a generic sort. (same comment applies to my mail Anne Wilson, actually ;) )
