[WYLUG-help] still trying to get this machine to copy cds/dvds

Getting somewhere - mkisofs -r -joliet-long -o /tmp/image . appeared to
produce a good iso image. However,

cdrecord /tmp/image.iso produced:

cdrecord: No write mode specified.
cdrecord: Asuming -tao mode.
cdrecord: Future versions of cdrecord may have different drive dependent
defaults.
cdrecord: Continuing in 5 seconds...

so I tried dvdrecord speed=2 dev=1,0,0 -v /tmp/image and got:

so I tried cdrecord dev=help and got a lot of references to scsi
supported and Unix non-supported devices (if I'm on the right track)

So I then tried cdrecord -dev=/dev/cdrom /tmp/image.iso then cdrecord
-dev=/dev/cdrom /tmp/image with similar results.

Will I ever write a CD or DVD using Linux? Oops. Mustn't say that! Yes,
of course I will , but how? What can I try next?
