[Bradford] The end of ReiserFS

Rather than convert the filesystem, if that's even possible, you could get
new 1TB HDD for around £20 - £40, I have just seen a new 1TB HDD on eBay
for £22.84. Although that's not a zero amount, it may be the safest
approach. You should probably avoid buying a second hand drive unless you
have time to test it before use. Also, assuming you have a backup of the
data on this drive, you could take the (slightly risky) approach of
reformatting the drive and restoring the backup!

As for what filesystem to move to, XFS (for performance) and ext4 (for
compatibility) are mature and considered a safe bet. If you want extra
features (e.g. snapshots) then Btrfs is now deemed to be mature, even
though it had a rocky early life. Your should probably avoid ZFS for single
drive configurations as it doesn't give any real advantages and is more
complicated to set up and manage.

One other thing, you didn't mention if this is a boot drive or just data
storage as it may change your options.
