Hi Julian!

Thanks for your 'synopsis' of the August meeting of Herefordshire LUG at your home! - It was indeed a pleasant evening outside, albeit with wireless connection probs. - but I'm used to that where I live ... ! Thank you to Sue & Hannah for making us welcome! As you seem to be inviting suggestions for the next meeting, can I suggest Lingen?! - Although this is in the far North-West corner of the county, there is a lovely pub there - The Royal George, and a Resource Centre with plenty of laptops and a good wireless connection!!! If we decided we wanted to use the Resource Centre, I would appreciate some warning, so I can book it? - There will be a small charge too, but it has very modern facilities and loads of free parking needless to say! Meanwhile, I'm struggling a bit with Wine & VirtualBox - I've installed both of them, but that is about as far as I've got. MythTV is another application which 'won't play' for me at present ... That and I can't re-format a SATA HDD I'm trying to 're-cycle' with an External Enclosure - It has Mint Elyssa on it, and Windoze of course won't even recognise EFT files ... Linux won't allow me the priviliege I need, so I'm stuck for the moment .... However, on the plus side, I've found a used IBM (aka Lenovo) Thinkpad X40 like Bens', on eBay, which I hope will be a useful test-bed! I love the portability of the X40, but it is still big enough to have a sensible keyboard! - I'm surprised that this size has not been settled on by other manufacturers ... Anything less is just too small.

Best wishes to all,
Chris.
